Twin-screw feeder targets precise batching and weighing applications
The Model TSF twin-screw feeder from Best Process Solutions is designed to support precise batching and weighing applications in space-constrained processing environments.
According to Best Process Solutions, the feeder uses a dual-helix configuration that combines high-volume filling with controlled dribble flow at the end of the batching cycle. This approach allows operators to maintain throughput while improving weight accuracy during final feed.
The Model TSF mounts two screws, measuring 1.5 inches and 4 inches in diameter, on a single 18-inch by 22-inch hopper. At maximum rpm, the smaller helix is rated at 17 cubic feet per hour, while the larger helix is rated at 283 cubic feet per hour, based on 100 percent efficient conveyable product and no slippage.
The feeder is intended for applications including batching to weigh hoppers, scale-monitored low loss-in-weight flow, loss-of-weight batch processes, drum and pail packout lines, and recipe-based batching using multiple computer-controlled units. The company notes that additional configuration options are available to adapt the feeder to specific process requirements.
