Gericke launches Nibbler GNB 250 for compact particle size reduction
Process equipment manufacturer Gericke has introduced the Nibbler GNB 250, a compact system designed for gentle deagglomeration, pre-breaking, and coarse particle size reduction in manufacturing applications.
The Nibbler GNB 250 uses the same proprietary deagglomeration and size reduction technology as the larger Nibbler GNB 530. According to Gericke, the new unit was developed for facilities that require consistent particle size reduction at high throughputs in smaller processing spaces or lower-volume operations.
The system automatically reduces solids to preset particle sizes ranging from 2 mm to 25 mm. Gericke says the Nibbler GNB 250 can achieve throughputs up to 30,000 liters per hour depending on the application. For comparison, the larger Nibbler GNB 530 is rated for throughputs up to 50,000 kilograms per hour.
The Nibbler GNB 250 is designed for food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and other manufacturing environments. The machine includes round process connections as standard to support installation in pneumatic conveying systems and other inline applications. Gericke says the design eliminates the need for custom adapters and transitions while helping ensure smooth material discharge without hangups.
Optional equipment includes the company’s RotaSafe detection system, which automatically shuts down power during abnormal metal-to-metal contact events. The hygienic system is also available with proprietary seals for sanitary wash-in-place processes.
Gericke offers the Nibbler GNB 250 in ATEX-compliant, pressure-rated, and custom configurations. Manufacturers can also test materials using full-size operating equipment at the company’s New Jersey test laboratory.
