Dinkle launches iO-GRID X modular remote I/O platform in North America
Dinkle International has announced North American availability of its iO-GRID X modular remote input/output (I/O) family, providing original equipment manufacturers, machine builders, and factory automation integrators with a scalable platform for industrial connectivity and digitalization.
Remote I/O technology helps reduce wiring requirements, minimize control panel space, lower material costs, and simplify system expansion. By connecting sensors, actuators, and other field devices through distributed I/O stations, users can reduce cabling complexity while maintaining communication with central control systems.
The iO-GRID X platform features modular slice-type I/O architecture that allows users to mix and match modules based on application requirements. The system is designed to work with programmable logic controllers, microcontrollers, and other industrial host systems.
Fieldbus coupler modules support major industrial Ethernet protocols, including EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, and CC-Link IE Field Basic, with communication speeds up to 100 Mbps. Each coupler includes dual RJ45 ports and an integrated two-port Ethernet switch to support daisy-chain network expansion. LED status indicators provide operational feedback, while firmware updates can be performed through a USB Type-C connection.
More than 20 I/O module types are available for the platform. Options include 16- and 32-channel digital input and output modules, analog input and output modules with voltage and current signal support, and specialized modules for resistance temperature devices, thermocouples, serial communications, high-speed counting, and pulse output applications.
The modules operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -10°C to 60°C and mount on standard DIN rails. Gold-plated spring-loaded connectors provide module-to-module connectivity, while power supply options accommodate varying station sizes using 24 VDC input power. All models carry CE and UL certifications.
According to Dinkle International, detachable terminal blocks and push-in wiring technology enable faster installation, easier maintenance, and module replacement without rewiring. The company said the platform is intended to support a broad range of applications, including manufacturing, logistics, machinery, and building automation systems.
In addition to its standard product offerings, Dinkle provides customization services covering hardware, firmware, software, labeling, branding, and application-specific design requirements for remote I/O deployments.
