Finish Thompson Inc. now offers the HVDP Series drum and barrel pumps, a sealed progressive cavity, positive displacement pump line engineered to deliver reliable transfer of high-viscosity food and beverage ingredients in demanding production environments. Designed to handle viscosities up to 20,000 cP in the HR model and up to 100,000 cP in the LR model, the HVDP Series helps processors move thick, shear-sensitive products such as honey, corn syrup, juice concentrate, edible oils, and viscous flavorings more efficiently while maintaining steady performance.
The HVDP Series combines a mechanically sealed design with heavy-duty 316 stainless steel tube construction to provide durability in challenging operating environments and dependable fluid handling over time. With maximum flow rates up to 10 gpm and maximum head above 300 feet, the pumps give operators the ability to move viscous media with the pressure and consistency needed for production processes.
Additional design features support easier cleaning, maintenance and broader application flexibility. A unique camlock feature allows quick disassembly, helping reduce service time and facilitating more frequent cleaning between product changeovers. An optional foot design supports use in drums with liners for cleaner, more practical material transfer. FDA-compliant material options and a tri-clamp discharge fitting option also make the HVDP Series well suited for food and beverage applications where sanitary design and hygienic hose and piping connections are important but full 3-A or USDA certification is not required.
The HVDP Series is designed for a wide range of high-viscosity fluids, including oils, honey, juice concentrate and corn syrup, and personal care-style products used in food and beverage plants, such as lotions and gels for cleaning and sanitation. With stator material options including Buna-N, FKM, and PTFE, the pumps give users added flexibility to match pump construction to fluid compatibility and process requirements.
