Denso launches carbon fiber pipeline repair systems for corrosion protection
Denso Inc. has expanded its pipeline protection portfolio with the introduction of Protal 2800CF and Protal 3200CF, two carbon fiber composite pipe repair systems designed to reinforce damaged pipelines and provide long-term corrosion protection.
The new systems are intended to help pipeline operators address challenges associated with aging infrastructure, including corrosion, wall loss, and mechanical damage. According to Denso, the repair systems combine carbon fiber reinforcement with Protal corrosion protection coatings to restore structural integrity while extending pipeline service life.
As part of the repair process, Protal 3210 Structural Filler is used to fill external defects and restore the pipe surface profile. The filler helps distribute loads evenly and supports the transfer of internal pressure from weakened pipe walls to the carbon fiber reinforcement system.
Protal 2800CF is a prepackaged composite repair system that utilizes Protal 7300 coating technology. The system is designed for pipeline integrity programs requiring structural reinforcement, corrosion protection, and consistent installation performance.
Protal 3200CF is a wet-layup composite repair system that incorporates Protal 7200 high-build corrosion protection coating. The system is designed for applications requiring higher-strength repairs and long-term protection in demanding operating environments.
According to Denso, the addition of Protal 2800CF and Protal 3200CF expands its ability to support pipeline owners, engineers, and maintenance teams with solutions that address both structural reinforcement and corrosion control.
