ANYbotics launches Shift platform to connect robotic inspections with maintenance workflows

The new platform automates workflows from robotic inspection scheduling to anomaly detection and maintenance work order creation.

ANYbotics has launched Shift, an industrial robotics platform that connects autonomous inspection fleets, equipment condition data and maintenance systems in a unified workflow. The platform is designed to help manufacturers identify equipment anomalies, prioritize repairs and reduce unplanned downtime.

Shift combines four modules: Fleet, Insight, Connect and Maps. Together, they support robot scheduling, inspection data analysis, maintenance system integration and plant asset mapping.

The Fleet module coordinates robot missions and monitors operational status. Insight analyzes thermal, acoustic, visual and gas readings alongside operating conditions to identify potential equipment problems. Connect transfers confirmed anomalies into maintenance work orders, while Maps links inspection targets to existing plant asset hierarchies.

The platform also supports two-way communication with connected industrial systems. Maintenance platforms and process alarms can trigger robot inspections, while inspection results and alerts flow back into existing operational software. Shift integrates with distributed control systems, computerized maintenance management systems, enterprise resource planning tools and asset performance management platforms.

ANYbotics reports that Shift supports more than 200 robot deployments and processes hundreds of thousands of inspections monthly. At the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, the platform identified overheating conductors, partial discharge and gas leaks that manual inspections had missed. According to the company, the deployment generated more than $3.5 million in savings during its first months of operation.

At a Vigier Cement plant, Shift completed more than 33,000 autonomous inspections over 16 months. The platform organized readings according to the facility's asset hierarchy, allowing maintenance teams to compare equipment condition trends and prioritize repairs.

Shift operates primarily as a managed cloud platform with regional hosting options. Customers can also deploy it in their own cloud environments or on-premises to meet specific information technology, operational technology or regulatory requirements. ANYbotics says customers retain ownership of their inspection data.

Existing customers using ANYbotics' Data Navigator platform will transition to Shift through a regular platform update. The transition will preserve existing data, configurations, integrations and custom workflows without requiring a separate migration project.

ANYbotics plans to expand Shift beyond its own ANYmal robots to support third-party robotic systems. The company also intends to use the platform's application programming interface architecture to support industrial artificial intelligence agents that coordinate robot fleets and assign inspection tasks.
