Cashco, Inc. recently announced that Laura Rathbun has been promoted to Purchasing Manager for the company, where she will be responsible for the purchase of raw materials and components used in the manufacturing of the diversified Cashco product lines. A Cashco employee for the past 20 years, Rathbun spent the last 11 years with the company as a buyer before assuming the role of department manager.

“I’m confident that Laura’s long-term experience with the company, particularly as a buyer for more than a decade, will make her a valued leader in the department,” said Clint Rogers, General Manager, Valve Division, Cashco, Inc. “She already has the advantage of knowing many of our vendors, having established a strong working relationship with them over the years. Plus, she understands our goals for quality excellence and knows how quality components play a critical role in that quest.”

“I always tell people this is the perfect job for me — I like to talk on the phone and I like to spend money,” Rathbun jokes. “Seriously, though, I do enjoy the interaction with the vendors and I enjoy the challenge involved in finding the quality materials that we need at the best price.”

Upon joining Cashco Inc. in 1992, Rathbun first worked as an engineering file clerk before moving to customer service. In the fall of 2001, she became a buyer where she worked with suppliers of components like bar stock, springs, seals, fasteners, etc. Today, in her new role, she manages three other buyers and the material secretary.

In her spare time, Rathbun is active with her church and enjoys photography, travel and sports, particularly professional football and KU basketball.

Cashco Inc., headquartered in Ellsworth, Kansas, manufactures a broad line of throttling rotary and linear control valves, pressure reducing regulators and back pressure regulators in a wide range of sizes.
