HECO has acquired Reliability Concepts, LLC, and Alignment Supplies, Inc., expanding its predictive maintenance services, vibration analysis capabilities, and portfolio of industrial reliability products.

The acquisition is HECO's fifth in the predictive maintenance and reliability market since 2013. Based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the company provides equipment repair, field service, predictive maintenance, equipment management, and product sales through 10 service centers and regional hubs serving industrial customers east of the Mississippi River.

Reliability Concepts provides predictive maintenance and reliability services throughout the Midwest, supporting customers in foundries, metals, food processing, manufacturing, and other industrial sectors. The company also sells reliability products globally through its ecommerce platform and industry distribution network.

Following the acquisition, Reliability Concepts will become part of HECO's Predictive Service Group. According to HECO, it will continue offering the company's existing products while expanding sales, training, marketing, and technical support for the B.A.T. Belt Alignment Tool, DigiBelt, FIN-LOC, and related reliability products.

HECO President Justin Hatfield said the acquisition is intended to strengthen the company's predictive maintenance team and expand practical reliability solutions for industrial customers. He added that Reliability Concepts' expertise complements HECO's long-term strategy for supporting industrial maintenance and reliability programs.

Among the products included in the acquisition is the B.A.T. Belt Alignment Tool, a laser-based system designed to help maintenance teams align belt-driven equipment more accurately. Proper belt alignment can reduce belt wear, bearing failures, vibration, energy losses, and unplanned downtime. The product line also includes DigiBelt for measuring belt tension and FIN-LOC, a tool designed to improve vibration data collection on equipment with cooling fins.

According to HECO, the acquisition also complements its broader investments in predictive maintenance and reliability technologies, including its work with Skyler, as the company continues to help industrial facilities transition from reactive maintenance practices to more connected reliability programs.

Mike Olszewski, founder of Reliability Concepts, said HECO shares the company's commitment to helping maintenance and reliability professionals solve practical equipment challenges and expressed confidence that the acquisition will support continued growth of the products, services, and customer relationships established by Reliability Concepts.
