Newtek offering custom high-temperature position sensors
Pennsauken, NJ, February 24, 2026 (NewTek release) — NewTek now manufactures custom linear position sensing units in various strokes, sizes and materials, engineered to operate reliably in hostile environments where temperature can reach up to 200°C.
Unlike magnetostrictive position sensors and other electronic sensing technologies, which depend on integrated electronics that can degrade or fail under prolonged heat, NewTek AC-operated LVDTs contain no internal microelectronics at the sensing element. This design reduces thermal drift, eliminates the need for extensive shielding and cooling, provides superior survivability under sustained high temperatures, and allows simplified mechanical installation.
NewTek NTC LVDT Signal Conditioners power and process signals from these AC-LVDTs that operate directly in the hot zone. The external signal conditioner demodulates the low-amplitude AC output and converts it into DC voltage, current, or digital output for meters, PLCs, and other control systems. By keeping sensitive electronics away from the heat, the system ensures long-term reliability and performance.
Customization that fits specific needs
No two applications are the same. That’s why NewTek offers custom configurations of its high-temperature position sensors with custom mounting configurations, compact housings, as well as multiple stroke lengths and sizes, and high-temperature–resistant materials and construction. Each unit is engineered to meet the exact environment, mechanical and performance requirements of a project.
Ideal for demanding applications
NewTek high-temperature AC-LVDTs are ideal for:
Power generation
- Turbine actuator control
- Steam valve automation
Oil and gas
- Valve position monitoring.
- Actuator feedback in refineries and processing plants
Industrial processing and manufacturing
- Plastic injection molding machines
- Die casting equipment
- Metal forging presses
