Munson launches cantilevered laboratory Vee Cone Blender with intensifier bar
Munson Machinery has introduced a cantilevered laboratory Vee Cone Blender (VCB Series) featuring an intensifier bar for optimized mixing of bulk solid materials, with or without liquid additions.
The VCB Series supports interchangeable vee cone vessels in six sizes, ranging from 0.25 to 16 quarts (0.24 to 15.14 liters), suitable for laboratory and small-batch applications. Two inclined cylinders cause materials to fall, converge, and divide with each end-over-end rotation, producing uniform blends in 5 to 15 minutes while minimizing product degradation compared to agitated machines.
Smooth internal surfaces facilitate unobstructed material flow and complete discharge through a gate valve. The intensifier bar reduces soft agglomerates and improves material diffusion, while an optional dispersion bar sprays liquids for rapid distribution throughout the batch. Easy access through the discharge valve and cylinder doors enables visual inspection and rapid sanitizing of all material contact surfaces.
The blender’s programmable control panel, which can also be mounted remotely, allows infinite adjustment of mixing parameters. Constructed of type 316 stainless steel, the unit can be finished to USDA, pharmaceutical, or industrial standards.
Munson also produces 17 production-scale Vee Cone Blenders with capacities from one to 200 cubic feet (28 liters to 5.66 cubic meters). The company’s broader mixing and size reduction portfolio includes Rotary Batch Mixers, Ribbon, Paddle and Plow Blenders, Fluidized Bed Mixers, Variable Intensity Blenders, Pin Mills, Attrition Mills, Hammer Mills, Shredders, and Rotary Knife Cutters.
