Steam condensing air heater delivers clean, dry air for industrial applications

Custom-built steam air heater features 304 stainless steel construction for reliable operation in harsh weather conditions.

Steam condensing air heater technology from Xchanger is available in a custom-built, dual-stage design engineered to provide clean, dry air for demanding industrial applications and cold winter operating conditions.

Constructed entirely from 304 stainless steel, the air heater incorporates a weather hood, bird screen, weatherproof and explosion-proof remote-actuated dampers, air filtration, and two steam heating stages.

Air enters through the weather hood before passing through the dampers and a multi-track filter housing equipped with MERV 8 prefilters and MERV 13 final filters. The system also includes pressure taps for filter monitoring and gasketed access doors that simplify filter replacement.

Following filtration, the air moves through two steam heating stages before exiting through an ANSI-pattern flange. According to the manufacturer, the first steam heating stage features a perforated tube-in-tube design intended to minimize condensate freeze-up.

The upstream filter housing and downstream discharge transition include hinged access doors, allowing operators to inspect the heating cores without disassembling the unit. This design supports easier maintenance while providing filtered, heated air for industrial processes.
