Emerson launches digital pH/ORP sensor for harsh processes
Emerson has introduced the Rosemount 350A High Performance pH/ORP Sensor, a digital liquid analysis sensor designed to improve measurement reliability in harsh industrial processes while simplifying installation and maintenance.
The sensor is intended for demanding pH applications, including high-temperature, high-pressure and retractable installations, where conventional analog sensors can be affected by electrical noise, complex wiring and limited diagnostic capabilities. By converting and transmitting pH and oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) data digitally, the Rosemount 350A helps provide stable measurements while reducing susceptibility to signal interference.
The sensor features a digital Modbus interface and M12 quick-connect cabling to support plug-and-play commissioning and reduce installation errors associated with manual wiring. Emerson says the digital architecture also allows interoperability across Rosemount digital liquid analysis sensors, helping facilities standardize instrumentation and simplify spare parts management.
The Rosemount 350A stores calibration data and diagnostic information within the sensor, enabling bench calibration and providing maintenance teams with additional information for troubleshooting. Sensor health indicators and event history also support proactive maintenance planning and faster root-cause analysis.
Designed for harsh operating conditions, the Rosemount 350A supports retractable mounting configurations and is available with titanium body options and selectable reference electrolytes for challenging process chemistries. According to Emerson, these options help improve measurement performance in applications where high temperatures, elevated pressures, coating or poisoning conditions can reduce sensor life.
