ABB has launched the PFM 20 Ex, a dust monitoring device for hazardous and harsh industrial environments.

The device provides dust detection down to 7.5 mg/m³ and meets ATEX Zone 22 certification requirements. The capabilities are designed for applications requiring robust equipment and low-range dust measurement.

The launch expands ABB’s industrial emission measurement portfolio, which includes continuous emission monitoring systems, dust and gas flow measurement, and portable hydrocarbon detection.

The portfolio includes continuous emission monitoring systems such as the ACF5000 and MCA 10. ABB also offers the PFM 20, PFM 13 and OPM 19 ED dust analyzers, along with the FMD 09 gas flow analyzer.

Portable flame ionization detectors provide on-site, real-time hydrocarbon detection. ABB also supports the portfolio with remote and on-site service and flexible care agreements.

The company’s My Measurement Assistant+ supports measurement device operations with device health status, reports, documentation and AI-powered, device-specific knowledge and solutions.

ABB completed its acquisition of Födisch Group in 2024. The acquisition added measurement and analytical technologies for dust and gas flow measurement and portable hydrocarbon detection.
