An explosion Tuesday night at Omega Treating Chemicals in southeast Midland, Texas, damaged an oil tanker truck and two boats, the Midland Reporter-Telegram reported.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, but city officials believe a fire that started within the engine compartment of the tanker truck led to the blast.
The tanker truck received significant damage to the engine and passenger compartments and the boats received extensive damage, according to a city press release.
Firefighters arrived at the scene around 10:30 p.m. and spent approximately 30 minutes extinguishing the flames.
The tanker truck contained oil field-related chemicals, but they were not involved in the fire and there was no release of chemicals, city officials said.
No injuries were reported.
