In the following podcast, Lori Ditoro, Processing’s editorial director and editor in chief, speaks with Walt Murry, strategic partner for MasterControl Quality & Compliance Consulting, during the INTERPHEX Conference & Exhibition. Murray explains how his MasterControl’s QMS functions across multiple industries — not just life sciences as is often thought.
In the podcast, Murray says:
While a QMS (quality management system) is very broad in its application, processing-type organizations — typically a manufacturer — have a condition that’s actually a line item inside the quality system where it asks to define the nature of processing and the level of control that is over that processing. It has very specific line items for what is known as product realization, so the kind of things that you find in that area are: What kind of workflows describe the nature of the processing, what kind of resources and the nature of training associated with those resources?
