The Nibbler line of lump breakers is offered in optional hygienic designs for installation in sanitary processing facilities. Developed to offer the company's proprietary size reduction technology in models that comply with FDA requirements, the hygienic lump breakers feature a novel shaft assembly that allows the entire basket, screen and front end to be quickly removed and fully accessed for complete cleaning, thorough inspections and easy maintenance. Proven in food, pharmaceutical and other sanitary processes, the Nibbler reduces agglomerates, granules and lumps down to 1 mm via attrition milling using a low-speed, high-torque rotating paddle assembly
2 | KM SERIES ROTARY KNIFE MILLS
Franklin Miller recently introduced its DEFINER KM Series Rotary Knife Mills for fine particle size reduction and uniform particle size distribution. The DEFINER KM Series mills employ high-shear knives that quickly and efficiently cut solids to the desired output size without overgrind or excessive fines. The unique, proprietary cutting mechanism is designed to minimize heat rise or product overwork typically associated with conventional processing equipment. Whatever the application, the DEFINER KM delivers reliable operation and maximum machine uptime. Units are available to handle capacity ranges from 125 to 5,000 pounds per hour or more.
3 | PIN MILL
This 24-inch diameter Pin Mill grinds, sizes, de-agglomerates and homogenizes friable or other materials into controlled particle sizes, from coarse to fine. Typical applications include rice flour, starches, sugars, spices, vitamin powders, grains, sodium compounds, fertilizers, resins, clays and other friable products. Constructed of mild steel with abrasion-resistant disc pins and durable exterior finish, it is available with all material contact surfaces of stainless steel finished to food and pharmaceutical standards.
4 | HIGH SHEAR MIXER/GRANULATOR
The QUEST HSM III high shear mixer/granulator incorporates 12-bar pressure shock resistance and ACG Engineering’s signature X-ONE COMMAND process control system. Designed to facilitate compliance with cGMP standards, the QUEST HSM III features interchangeable process bowls of 15, 30 and 65 liters, providing a wide range of batch sizes and torque measurement instrumentation for process end point determination. The new ACG mixer/granulator features a multi-blade chopper and Z-shaped impeller for better granules and shorter process times, and the machine’s unique sealing concept eliminates the need for compressed air.
