Prescient announces appointments to the senior team
Prescient, a biopharma product and portfolio strategy firm, recently appointed two new senior members, Kevin Baruzzi and Dr. Arun R. Shrivats, to its advisory business. They join a specialist team focused on helping clients develop and commercialize assets and brands that resonate in the market.
Baruzzi joins as the managing director of the company’s newly opened Boston office. He earned his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and economics from Brown University and has since worked in life sciences and biopharma strategy consulting, spending the better part of the last decade at ClearView Healthcare Partners. Baruzzi’s areas of expertise and experience include opportunity assessment, disease area and indication prioritization, clinical development strategy, target product profile design, life cycle management and competitive strategy.
Shrivats is an associate director based in the company’s San Francisco office. He earned his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and his bachelor’s degree in engineering science from the University of Toronto. Prior to joining Prescient, Shrivats was an engagement manager at L.E.K. Consulting following a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University's Wyss Institute. His areas of expertise and experience include portfolio valuation and prioritization, forecasting, competitive positioning, market access strategies, launch planning and commercial scale-up.
Technical market manager named at Orion Engineered Carbons
Trinh Nguyen has joined Orion Engineered Carbons as technical market manager for coatings. In this role, she provides technical support to North American customers, collaborates with them to resolve technical issues and initiates and directs coatings-related laboratory and manufacturing trials for Orion.
Prior to joining Orion in November, 2019, Nguyen served as a technical service chemist at BYK USA Inc. in Wallingford, Connecticut. Previously she was an R&D chemist at Chad Labs Corporation in Milford, Conn.
Nguyen earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry at Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven.
Magnetic products manufacturer Bunting names Canadian sales rep
Bunting, a manufacturer of magnetic products, recently contracted Chris Heming to serve as its new master rep for the western provinces of Canada.
Heming is the co-owner of the Canadian Copacking Group (CPG)/CPG Automation, as well as the co-founder of Farsight AI. CPG Automation provides integration and technology deployment to industries across Canada, and has service in Vancouver, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Toronto. CPG also provides extensive consulting services.
Heming will represent all standard Bunting products within the Western provinces of Canada. Bunting’s products include material handling, magnetic separation and metal detection equipment. He will be calling on all traditional industry segments, including food, grain milling, plastics processing, recycling and metalworking.
