Total Specialties USA Inc. announces new hires, promotions at Marketing & Services Division
Total Specialties recently appointed four new additions to its Marketing & Services Division Lubricants team at locations in Texas and New Jersey. Stephen Mammino has been promoted to industrial territorial manager, Trevor Demara has been promoted to market and PMCO segment analyst, Paola Monroy has joined the team as a marketing analyst and marketing intern Daniel Gomes has joined the company.
Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Total Specialties USA, Inc. is a part of the Americas Division for the Marketing & Services Branch of the Total Group. Total Specialties USA, Inc. offers a wide range of lubricant products including TOTAL QUARTZ synthetic performance engine oils.
Mammino has worked for Total Specialties for seven years and has more than 15 years of experience in the lubrication industry. At Total, he previously worked as a territory sales manager responsible for overseeing PCMO and heavy-duty sales. In his new position within the recently created US Industry sales group, his territory will expand throughout the Northeast and New England regions and he will focus on managing industrial lubricant accounts, growing Total’s client base, and expanding product lines in the food manufacturing and packaging, industrial and cement industries. Mammino is based in Total’s Hamilton Square, New Jersey sales office. He is one of several industrial lubricant experts who comprise the newly formed industry team under the leadership of Rod Umphreys, based in Houston. Umphreys, with more than 15 years of finished-lubricant experience, has formed this new industry-focused team as one of several differentiators that set Total apart from other lubricant manufacturers.
Gomes and Monroy will be based in Total’s Linden, New Jersey Technical Headquarters and Blending Facility. Monroy joins the Total team as a marketing analyst, bringing more than seven years of social media, communication, and advertising experience to her new role. She will be responsible for much of Total Lubricant USA digital and traditional marketing platforms, as well as overseeing the company’s social media platform for all product lines other than PCMO.
Gomes, a recent Seton Hall University graduate, has joined Total as a marketing intern associate. His role will span all areas of marketing and sales support and will serve as an entry platform for future growth opportunities within the company.
Demara, a former Total marketing intern, will support the USA Lubricants group of Total’s Marketing & Services Division as a market and PCMO segment analyst in the company’s marketing headquarters in Houston. He offers expertise in many different industry sectors within lubricants, and his primary focus will be on the TOTAL QUARTZ product line, as well as support on motorsports activities. Demara, a recent graduate of the University of Houston-Downtown holds previous experience working in the oilfield equipment, technology, and healthcare sectors.
Caris Life Sciences appoints chairman of Precision Oncology Alliance
Caris Life Sciences, an innovator in molecular science focused on precision medicine, recently announced Chadi Nabhan, MD, MBA, FACP has been appointed chairman of its Precision Oncology Alliance.
As chairman, Nabhan will lead the Precision Oncology Alliance, a collaborative network of leading cancer centers that demonstrates a commitment to precision medicine. The Precision Oncology Alliance comprises 36 academic, hospital and community-based cancer institutions, including 11 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers. The Alliance now includes more than 1,350 physicians, spanning more than 400 locations, who provide services for over 280,000 people with cancer each year.
Nabhan was previously chief medical officer of Aptitude Health, a global provider of oncology insights. He was also chief medical officer at Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions where he led clinical programs, real-world evidence, HEOR, regulatory, publications and strategic initiatives for key stakeholders. Previously, Nabhan was an associate professor of medicine and medical director of the Clinical Cancer Center at the University of Chicago where he oversaw the clinical operations of cancer clinics and supervised all aspects of cancer care delivery. He is currently an adjunct professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of South Carolina.
Nabhan maintains active medical licenses in five states and has hosted his own award-winning healthcare podcast named "Outspoken Oncology" since February 2019.
ORIC Pharmaceuticals appoints general counsel
ORIC Pharmaceuticals Inc., a privately held, clinical-stage oncology company focused on developing treatments that address mechanisms of therapeutic resistance, recently announced that Christian V. Kuhlen, M.D., has been named general counsel. Kuhlen will serve on the executive leadership team and lead ORIC's legal, compliance, intellectual property and corporate governance functions.
Kuhlen has extensive expertise as general counsel for biotechnology companies, where he has been responsible for legal, SEC, human resources, intellectual property and corporate governance functions. Most recently, Kuhlen served as general counsel and secretary for Synthorx, where he led the legal aspects of its initial public offering and advised on the company's subsequent acquisition by Sanofi. Prior to Synthorx, Kuhlen was general counsel at Ignyta, where he coordinated two public financings and advised on the company's acquisition by Roche. Before Ignyta, Kuhlen served as General Counsel of Genoptix Inc., where he led the legal function from its initial public offering to its successful acquisition by Novartis. Prior to Genoptix, he was an attorney in private practice with Cooley LLP. Kuhlen holds a B.S. in biochemistry and cell biology and a B.A. in economics from the University of California, San Diego, and a M.D. and J.D. from the University of Southern California.
NAVAC hires sales manager for western region
NAVAC, the world’s largest supplier of HVAC vacuum pumps in addition to a wide array of tools, gauges, charging machines, recovery units and other industry-specific items, recently hired Bryan Schwartz for the role of Western Regional Sales Manager. In this position, Schwartz will spearhead sales efforts and play a fundamental role in expanding the company’s customer base as NAVAC continues to extend its North American market share and overall industry footprint.
Schwartz brings more than 20 years of sales and service management experience to his new position with NAVAC. Most recently, he was senior national training manager for LG Electronics, where he was named the company’s Global Trainer of the Year for 2019. Prior to his tenure with LG, Mr. Schwartz held a senior sales and training role with DMG North Inc. and, before that, served as technical service manager with Stanford Copper Supply.
