Coperion K-Tron has expanded its ProRate PLUS feeder portfolio to include a ProRate PLUS-MT twin screw feeder, which together with the recently introduced ProFlow bulk solids activator, is an efficient solution for feeding powder additives in plastics applications. The twin screw gravimetric feeder has a horizontal agitator to keep the screws optimally filled with material. Twin screw feeders reduce pulsations and are ideal for difficult to handle powder additives such as talc, calcium carbonate or carbon black. The feeder’s steep hopper walls allow poorly flowing materials to be fed reliably without an additional vertical agitator. Feeder can handle throughputs from 40 to 1,800 dm3/h (1.4 to 63.6 ft3/h), depending on bulk material characteristics.
