AFC unveils large-capacity screw conveyor for powders and pellets

The new Spiralfeeder Model 60 is designed to support high-throughput material conveying across food, dairy, chemical, and pharmaceutical facilities.

Automated Flexible Conveyor (AFC) has introduced the AFC Spiralfeeder Model 60, the company’s highest-capacity screw conveyor for transferring powders, pellets, and other dry bulk materials.

Designed for high-throughput conveying applications, the new system features a 6.25-inch diameter outer tube and a high-torque industrial drive. According to AFC, the conveyor is engineered to move materials from an integrated floor-level hopper to discharge points while maintaining a consistent flow rate and minimizing clogging or material degradation.

The AFC Spiralfeeder Model 60 is suitable for food, dairy, chemical, pharmaceutical, and other processing facilities. The conveyor is available with interchangeable spiral screw designs in either carbon steel or stainless steel, allowing processors to match the equipment to free-flowing and non-free-flowing materials in both sanitary and non-regulated environments.

To support maintenance and product changeovers, operators can access the hopper interior, screw, and outer tube for cleaning. Optional accessories include a material agitator, lump breaker, and dust cover.

According to AFC, the new powder conveyor is designed and manufactured at the company’s facility in Clifton, New Jersey. The company also offers material testing in its on-site test laboratory before equipment delivery and installation.
