Tsurumi (America), Inc. has launched its BN Series Submersible Smashing Cutter pump in North America at WEFTEC 2026 in New Orleans.

The new pump targets wastewater applications where wipes, textiles, plastics, ropes and other fibrous materials can cause clogging, downtime and maintenance requirements.

The BN Series uses Tsurumi’s Smashing Cutter Mechanism to capture and shred solids before they can accumulate around the impeller or obstruct downstream piping. The system combines a heart-shaped suction cover, semi-open channel impeller and extended rotating guide.

The BN Series builds on Tsurumi’s C Series Cutter Pump technology with enhanced shredding and anti-clogging capabilities. The pump also incorporates other Tsurumi technologies including an anti-wicking cable entry, oil-lubricated dual silicon carbide mechanical seals, Oil Lifter and built-in thermal motor protection.

An automatic air release valve is also included. A back pull-out design allows operators to simplify inspection and maintenance.

Tsurumi said field installations have demonstrated the BN Series’ ability to reduce clogging and maintenance requirements. The company designed the pump for municipal, commercial and industrial wastewater applications.

The BN Series is on display at WEFTEC 2026, held Sept. 28–30 in New Orleans. Tsurumi is exhibiting the pump at Booth 4241.
