(York, Pennsylvania — Readco Kurimoto Release) Process equipment manufacturer Readco Kurimoto recently celebrated the groundbreaking on its new facility. Designed to nearly double the size of its current facility to 67,000 square feet, the new facility is to house machining and assembly operations, a 60-seat training and education center, engineering and sales offices, warehousing and two laboratories for testing products and materials in sanitary and/or hazardous environments. The relocation was necessary to meet current and projected demand for the company's line of process equipment, according to Doug Dodson, president of the company's North American operations.
A subsidiary of Kurimoto Group from Osaka, Japan, and originally founded in 1906 as the Read Machinery Co., Inc., Readco custom-engineers process equipment used for automating production in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, nutrition and other industries. Its line of proprietary equipment includes the Continuous Processor (CP), which mixes multiple powdered, liquid and viscous materials in one step, the Continuous Hybrid Reactor (CHR), which offers heating, cooling, mixing, degassing and other processes in one step, and the Self-Contained Processor (SCP) for continuous drying and evaporation in one step.
Operations in the new facility are to commence during the first quarter of 2023.
