Key Technology and PPM Technologies to highlight automation systems at Expo Pack Mexico
Duravant operating companies are showcasing a range of automated processing and packaging systems at Expo Pack Mexico 2026, highlighting technologies designed to help manufacturers address labor shortages, rising quality expectations and increasing production demands.
The companies exhibiting at booth 2520 include Duravant brands Key Technology, Mespack, nVenia, PATTYN, PPM Technologies and Wulftec. The solutions on display target food, pharmaceutical, personal care and home care production environments.
According to Duravant Mexico Managing Director Oscar Ortega, many processors and packers across Latin America are transitioning from manual production methods to semi-automated and fully automated systems as labor becomes more difficult to recruit and train.
Key Technology is presenting its COMPASS optical sorter, designed to remove defects and foreign materials from fruits, vegetables, snacks and other products. The system combines multi-channel sensor data with multi-wavelength strobing to deliver laser-sorter-level detection capabilities without mechanical scanning components. The sorter also features recipe-driven operation, simplified controls and an open sanitary design intended to reduce cleaning and maintenance requirements.
PPM Technologies is showcasing its FlavorWright SmartSpray coating system for gummies, vitamins, supplements and confectionery products. The automated system uses a tumbling drum and adjustable liquid applicator to provide controlled coating coverage while reducing waste and manual labor. Recipe-based controls and interchangeable drum sizes are designed to support faster product changeovers.
nVenia is exhibiting two Fischbein bag closing systems aimed at reducing packaging disruptions. The Fischbein 400 NS plain sew system automates bag feeding and sewing for pillow-style and gusseted bags, while the Fischbein PBC 6000 pinch bag closer is designed to create sift-resistant seals and reduce downtime through a patented breakaway mechanism.
PATTYN is participating in the Duravant booth for the first time since its 2025 acquisition. The company is displaying the CEFLEX-41, which combines case erecting and bag inserting into a single machine. The system operates at up to 12 cases per minute and uses custom-made bags from film reels that can reduce material costs by up to 30 percent compared to premade bags.
Wulftec is demonstrating the SMART SMLPA-200 portable automated stretch wrapper. The system can wrap up to 55 loads per hour and includes features such as a NO-THREAD powered pre-stretch carriage and automated cut-and-wipe functionality intended to reduce manual film handling and improve production flow.
Expo Pack Mexico 2026 takes place June 2-5 at Expo Santa Fe in Mexico City.
