PMMI launches CPG NexGen Awards to honor young industry leaders
PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, has launched the CPG NexGen Awards, a new industry-wide recognition program that will honor 10 professionals age 35 and younger working at consumer packaged goods (CPG) and end-user companies.
Produced by PACK EXPO, the program recognizes emerging leaders who are making significant contributions to packaging and processing through innovation, leadership, operational excellence, and problem-solving.
Nominations are open through July 17, 2026. Eligible candidates can be nominated by managers, supervisors, teammates, mentors, suppliers, customers, and other industry partners.
According to PMMI President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Pittas, the awards were created to recognize a new generation of professionals bringing technical expertise, leadership, and fresh ideas to the packaging and processing industry.
The initiative is part of PMMI's broader focus on workforce development and industry engagement. In addition to recognizing individual achievement, the program provides participating companies with an opportunity to highlight their investment in talent development, innovation, and future industry leadership.
The 10 selected honorees will receive a hosted experience at PACK EXPO International 2026, scheduled for Oct. 18-21 in Chicago. The recognition package includes complimentary event registration, round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, access to networking opportunities, recognition during industry events, and a complimentary ticket to PACK gives BACK.
The awards will be presented in conjunction with PACK EXPO International 2026, which is expected to bring together 2,600 exhibitors and approximately 48,000 attendees across more than 40 vertical markets. The biennial event serves as a major platform for packaging and processing equipment, automation technologies, and manufacturing innovation.
