John B. Sanfilippo announces chief executive officer succession plan
John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc., which produces nut and dried fruit products and snack bars that are sold under the company’s Fisher, Orchard Valley Harvest, Squirrel Brand and Southern Style Nuts brand names, has announced a leadership succession plan that will take effect on October 1, 2026, as the company prepares for its next phase of executive leadership.
Under the plan, Chairman of the Board and CEO Jeffrey T. Sanfilippo will transition to the role of executive chairman. In his new position, he will continue leading the board of directors while working with the executive team to support the company's strategic direction and long-term growth.
The board of directors has appointed Jasper B. Sanfilippo Jr., currently president and chief operating officer, as CEO effective October 1, 2026.
The company also announced the promotion of Frank S. Pellegrino from executive vice president and chief financial officer to president and chief financial officer. His expanded role will include broader leadership and operational responsibilities across the business.
According to John B. Sanfilippo & Son, the leadership changes are the result of a planned succession process intended to provide a seamless transition while maintaining execution of the company's strategic plan.
Jeffrey T. Sanfilippo said Jasper B. Sanfilippo Jr.'s operational experience, strategic leadership and execution capabilities position him to lead the company through its next phase of growth. He also said Frank Pellegrino's expanded responsibilities will strengthen alignment between the company's financial and operational priorities.
