General Mills promotes Dana McNabb to Chief Operating Officer
General Mills announced Dana McNabb has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, effective June 1, 2026. McNabb will continue reporting to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Harmening and will join the company’s board of directors.
In her expanded role, McNabb will oversee all General Mills operating segments and several core operational functions. Along with her current leadership responsibilities for North America Retail and North America Pet, she will now manage the International and North America Foodservice segments.
Her responsibilities will also include oversight of the company’s Digital and Technology, Innovation, Technology and Quality, Strategy and Growth, and Supply Chain teams.
According to General Mills, the leadership change is intended to strengthen global operations and support profitable growth initiatives across the business.
“Dana is a disciplined, strategic leader and results-driven operator with a proven passion for our brands and consumers,” Harmening said in a statement announcing the appointment.
McNabb has served as Group President of North America Retail since 2024 and added leadership of North America Pet in 2025. Earlier in her career, she held several senior leadership positions, including Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, Group President of the Europe and Australia segment, President of the U.S. Cereal operating unit, and Vice President of Global Marketing for Cereal Partners Worldwide, General Mills’ joint venture with Nestlé based in Switzerland.
McNabb joined General Mills in Canada in 1999. Her experience spans multiple product categories, including cereal, snacks, meals and dairy.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Business Administration degree from the London School of Business. McNabb also serves on the board of directors of Cereal Partners Worldwide.
