Readco Kurimoto offers ceramic mixing elements for battery materials
Readco Kurimoto offers non-metallic mixing elements for its Continuous Processors to reduce the risk of metal contamination in battery manufacturing.
The optional mixing elements are available in machined ceramic, ceramic-coated and tungsten-carbide-coated configurations. The materials provide approximately Rockwell C 70 hardness to withstand abrasive battery-grade materials without using ferrous metal.
Reducing metallic contamination can help limit potential safety hazards, high self-discharge rates and yield losses associated with metal particulates entering battery materials.
Readco Kurimoto will showcase the Continuous Processor at The Battery Show, Oct. 12-15, 2026, in Detroit. The equipment continuously mixes and reacts multiple dry and liquid materials in a single step.
The processor is designed for high-throughput production of lithium-ion electrode slurries, solid-state binder dispersions, dry electrode powders, lead-acid pastes and other materials.
Readco Kurimoto custom-designs its Continuous Processors based on testing conducted at its York, Pennsylvania, test laboratory. Testing uses customer materials and formulations to verify equipment performance.
