Two U.S. companies that supply health products have announced separate recalls because of the possible risk of Salmonella contamination.

New England Greens, LLC dba Vibrant Health is recalling 10 lots of Green Vibrance and one lot of Rainbow Vibrance after a former raw material supplier recalled one of the ingredients of the two products, organic parsley leaf powder, because of the potential for contamination with Salmonella.

The health supplements company, based in Canaan, Connecticut, stressed that there is only a slight possibility that any amount of Salmonella is present in the recalled products. It said it was issuing the recall as a precautionary measure and no illnesses have been reported in connection with this problem.

The affected lots of Green Vibrance and Rainbow Vibrance were distributed across the United States. Customers affected by the recall are advised to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Separately, Sunburst Superfoods of Tuckahoe, New York, is recalling Sunburst SUPERFOODS Organic Raw Carob Powder which was sold from March 12, 2014 through July 28, 2014. The company's supplier initiated a recall of the bulk organic raw carob powder after learning that one of its customers had tested positive for Salmonella from the original lot. Sampling conducted by the manufacturer did not indicate the presence of Salmonella but Sunburst Superfoods said that it was recalling the product "out of an abundance of caution."

Sunburst SUPERFOODS Organic Raw Carob Powder was sold online and distributed to customers throughout the United States. No illnesses associated with the product have been reported. Affected customers should return the carob powder to Sunburst Superfoods for a full refund.
