ROSS appoints vice president of sales
ROSS recently appointed Ken Langhorn to the position of vice president of sales.
Langhorn graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Stony Brook and joined ROSS in February 1998 as a lab assistant in the company's Test & Development Center. In December 1999, Ken was promoted to product manager of high shear mixers, high speed dispersers, multi-shaft mixers and three roll mills.
Named technical director in June 2006, Langhorn assumed the responsibility of managing the Test & Development Center. In this role, he worked side-by-side with customers on more than 150 tests annually. He provides invaluable technical support to the entire sales team and engineering groups throughout the company's U.S., China and India locations.
Golden State Foods promotes two executive leaders
Golden State Foods (GSF), one of the largest diversified suppliers to the foodservice industry, recently promoted Brian Dick to corporate executive vice president and chief operating officer, and Campbell Cooper to president, international business group.
Effective immediately, Dick now oversees all global operations for the company, including food manufacturing and logistics groups. He provides strategic leadership and direction for all worldwide activities to ensure the attainment of all quality, cost, timeliness, safety and customer satisfaction objectives and company financial and growth goals.
A GSF leader for 20 years, Dick previously led strategy and oversight of all global liquid products, dairy, protein and produce operations worldwide as senior corporate vice president and president of global manufacturing. He joined GSF in 1999 as business development manager for GSF Egypt and helped diversify the company’s liquid products and protein businesses domestically and overseas. Based in the United States since 2002, he served in multiple business development roles and led the U.S. sales force beginning in 2006 as group vice president of sales and marketing.
As president, international business group, Cooper now oversees operations in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East, as he transitions from his former role as group vice president, GSF Fresh. After joining GSF in 2018, Cooper played a key role in the company’s introduction into the Taiwanese market through a joint venture partnership. Campbell also spearheaded GSF’s expansion in China and Australia, continuing to work closely with GSF customers to ensure that the company meets their needs across the global supply chain.
Prior to GSF, Cooper served as general manager, functional foods for Royal Cosun. Previously, Cooper successfully held tenures at global food brands like Fronterra, Nestlé Purina Europe and Zespri International. Originally from Havelock North, New Zealand, Cooper earned his bachelor’s degree in Horticultural Science from Lincoln University in New Zealand.
Sulzer GTC’s president honored with Hydrocarbon Processing Lifetime Achievement award
Pinti Wang, president of Sulzer GTC Technology, has been presented with the 2019 Hydrocarbon Processing Lifetime Achievement award. The recognition honors the midstream and downstream processing industry’s top innovations and innovators.
The nominations were voted on by an advisory board consisting of operating companies, engineering, procurement and construction contractors, licensors, consultants and equipment/service companies.
Wang has been serving the oil and gas sector with leading chemical and process engineering solutions for 40 years. He founded GTC Technology in 2002, where he acted as CEO and chairman. Under his leadership, the company became a global licensor of process technologies and mass transfer solutions for the oil refining and petrochemical industry. Now that GTC Technology has been acquired by Sulzer, Wang continues to play a vital role as president of Sulzer GTC.
Sulzer is a global leader in fluid engineering that specializes in pumping, agitation, mixing, separation and application technologies for fluids of all types.
Conval appoints Midwest regional manager
Conval recently appointed Rod Alford as Midwest regional manager. In his new position, Alford will serve customers in power generation, energy production, chemical processing, pulp and paper, engineering, procurement and construction.
Alford brings more than 35 years of inside and field industrial sales experience at Mutual Manufacturing, Jay Instruments, Dalco and Republic Equipment. He previously served as a Conval sales representative and regional manager.
Founded in 1967, Conval Inc. designs and manufactures U.S.-made, high-performance severe service valves.
NEMA names board of governors chair
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) recently elected Raj Batra, president of digital industries at Siemens USA, as chair of the NEMA board of governors. Batra has held a wide range of high-level management strategy and sales positions since joining Siemens in 1993. He currently oversees all development, marketing, sales, research and development, vertical industry and manufacturing aspects for digital industries in the United States.
In addition to Batra, the NEMA board elected new officers for 2020: vice chair Annette Clayton of Schneider Electric, treasurer Jack Nehlig of Phoenix Contact and immediate past chairman David Nord of Hubbell Incorporated.
