TEMPERATURE TRANSMITTERS WITH BLUETOOTH

Endress+Hauser’s iTEMP TMT71 and TMT72 single-channel transmitters offer a user-friendly operation concept and wireless communication via Bluetooth in conjunction with highly accurate and reliable measurements. The transmitters are available with an integrated Bluetooth interface that enables users to wirelessly display measured values and perform configuration tasks. The configurable transmitters are compatible with signals from resistance sensors, thermocouples and resistance and voltage transmitters, and provide an output via the 4 to 20 mA signal or the HART 7 communication (TMT72). Integrated sensor monitoring functions, device troubleshooting and diagnostic information in accordance with NAMUR NE 107 allow for a high level of measuring point availability. The transmitter sensor’s precision of the temperature measurement is increased for the entire system as it matches calendar-Van-Dusen coefficients. iTEMP TMT71 and TMT72 temperature transmitters are also designed for safe operation in hazardous areas thanks to international approvals (ATEX, CSA C/US, IECEx).

groov EPIC I/O MODULES

Opto 22 recently released three new groov EPIC input/output modules. For system integrators and engineers, the new I/O modules provide more options for bringing existing devices into groov EPIC, as well as meeting precise requirements for temperature control applications. They also include budget-beating designs for mixed signal types, signal isolation and channel density:

  • GRV-IDCSW-12 (discrete input, 12 channels, DC contact switch status) monitors the open/closed status of dry contact switches and provides the necessary excitation voltage to power the circuit. This module is ideal for monitoring distributed IT equipment, benchtop analyzers, motor run/stop relays or any device that offers only a dry contact for status.
  • GRV-IVI-12 (analog voltage input, 12 channels, ±1.25 to ±160 V, channel-to-channel isolation): With 12 isolated channels, each configurable to one of eight ranges from ±1.25 to ±160 V, this module eliminates the need to segregate I/O signals over multiple modules, providing significant cost and space reduction for mixed voltage applications.
  • GRV-IRTD-8 (analog input, eight channels, temperature/RTD or resistor) increases options for accuracy and I/O density in temperature applications. It provides eight channels for 2- and 3-wire RTD inputs, with a maximum range of –200 °C to 850 °C.

TRIPLE SHAFT MIXER

The latest 600-gallon ROSS VersaMix Model VM-600 is capable of high-speed subsurface powder induction with proprietary ROSS Solids/Liquid Injection Manifold (SLIM). SLIM incorporates powder or liquid phases directly into the rotor-stator mix head, causing instant wet out as it rotates at 3,600 RPM. The classic dual-post, triple-shaft design has been revolutionized with this feature to streamline the processing of substantial powder phases. The robust anchor agitator moves product from the high-shear rotor stator head to a high-speed dispersing head, which deagglomerates any remaining fisheyes. Used to quickly mix large batches throughout the process industries, the SLIM feature accelerates loading phases exponentially. This design is available from laboratory sizes upwards of 4,000 gallons.

SERIES 5000 PACKED TOWER SCRUBBERS

Bionomic Industries Inc. recently announced the availability of its latest concept, the high efficiency Series 5000 Counter Current Packed Tower Scrubber with increased versatility. Series 5000 Packed Towers incorporate Bionomic’s maximum throughput Hi-Flow random or structured packing, high efficiency mist eliminator designs, and a variety of clog resistant liquid distribution systems match engineered to more precisely meet specific application requirements. An optional dual packed bed arrangement enables removal of multiple contaminants using different scrubbing reagents within the same unit. Engineered for use with water, reactive chemical reagents or special solvent scrubbing liquids to reduce costs and recover or minimize liquid waste, the scrubbers provide up to 99.9% removal efficiency and are available in a full range of sizes for gas flow rates from 30 cfm thru 300,000 cfm.

BULK BAG DISCHARGER WITH SAFETY CAGE

A new BULK-OUT Model BFF Bulk Bag Discharger features a steel safety cage to prevent contact with moving parts during operation and automated unloading of bulk bags. The enclosure features externally mounted controls and full height doors with an Intrinsically Safe Relay (ISR) that halts operation when the door is open. The discharger is equipped with top-mounted receiving cups and a removable bag-lifting frame for forklift loading of bulk bags. Z-CLIP strap holders at the frame extremities allow rapid, secure insertion and removal of bag straps. A manual SPOUT-LOCK clamp ring positioned atop a pneumatically actuated TELE-TUBE telescoping tube provides quick, dust-tight connections between the bag spout and hopper and maintains downward tension on the spout as the bag empties to eliminate creases, folds or bulges that could hinder material flow. Additional flow promotion is afforded by FLOW-FLEXER bag activators that raise and lower opposite bottom sides of the bag at timed intervals, loosening compacted material and directing it into the discharge spout. As the bag lightens, the stroke of the bag activators increases, raising the bag bottom into a steep "V" shape, while top-mounted POP-TOP extension devices elongate the entire bag, promoting total discharge with no manual intervention.

TG SERIES SECOTEC REFRIGERATED DRYERS

Kaeser's expanded SECOTEC refrigerated dryer line features five new models for larger compressed air systems. The new TG series, with five models from 1340 to 3070 scfm, has been designed for consistent dew point control and energy efficiency under varying load conditions. Kaeser's innovative SECOPACK LS thermal storage system contains a phase-changing material (PCM) that is 98% denser than conventional storage media. Thermal energy is stored as the PCM cycles from a solid to a liquid state, enhancing energy efficiency. TG dryers also have the advanced R-513A refrigerant which has 60% lower global warming potential and decreases refrigerant weight significantly. These features make the SECOTEC TG units up to 60% lighter than other thermal storage dryers. Plus, these units have a smaller footprint, making them perfect for facilities where space is limited. SECOTEC TG units feature a variable speed radial fan design that further enhances energy efficiency, extends fan life and enables dryer exhaust ducting. A dedicated fan in the electrical cabinet provides cooling in high heat environments.
