PMMI and FPSA release 2026 processing industry market report
PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, and the Food Production Solutions Association (FPSA) have released the 2026 Processing State of the Industry Report, providing new data and forecasts on the U.S. food and beverage processing machinery market.
According to the report, the market reached $6.2 billion in shipment value in 2025, representing 3.2% growth over 2024. PMMI and FPSA project the market will continue expanding and could reach $6.7 billion by 2027.
The report establishes a baseline for the food processing machinery market and includes shipment values, growth forecasts, and segmentation by end-user industry and equipment category.
Meat and poultry accounted for the largest share of the market at 29.2%, followed by prepared foods at 14% and dairy at 12.4%. The report also identified pet food, inspection equipment, and prepared foods as sectors expected to post some of the strongest growth through 2030.
PMMI and FPSA said several trends are influencing investment and operational decisions across food and beverage processing facilities, including:
