Volkmann plant expansion cuts North American equipment lead times

The expanded facility supports growing demand for pneumatic conveying systems, bulk bag unloaders, and vibrating feeders across the Americas.

Process equipment manufacturer Volkmann USA, based in Bristol, Pennsylvania, announced the expansion of its global manufacturing headquarters in Soest, Germany, adding 48,437 square feet to the facility to increase production capacity and accelerate equipment deliveries.

The expanded plant is designed to support higher output and shorter lead times for Volkmann’s pneumatic vacuum conveying systems, bulk bag unloaders, vibrating feeders, and related bulk material handling equipment. According to the company, lead times for custom conveyor orders shipped to the United States, Canada, and Mexico have already been reduced since operations began in the new space.

Volkmann also introduced a new Quick Ship program that offers delivery of a new VS Series vacuum conveyor in as little as two weeks.

The expansion consolidates design engineering, manufacturing, assembly, quality control, shipping, and related operations under one roof. Volkmann said the integrated layout is intended to streamline production workflows, improve efficiency, and support consistent on-time delivery.

The upgraded facility also includes a new on-site testing laboratory featuring fully operational pneumatic vacuum conveying systems, bulk bag unloaders, feeders, and metal powder handling equipment used in large-scale 3D printing automation. Customers can use the lab to evaluate equipment performance and validate material handling processes.

Volkmann USA noted that a similar testing laboratory remains available at its Bristol, Pennsylvania, headquarters, where North American customers can conduct product and material testing on full-size conveying systems.
